At level 10 in MapleStory Classic World, take your 1st job in your class's town. That's the big one. The same level also unlocks crafting, the daily check-in event, and the AP Reset Scroll if you need it. Then a few more systems open at 12 and 15.

Quick checklist: 1) Advance in Perion, Ellinia, Henesys or Kerning City. 2) Accept The Journey Begins from Maple Administrator (until November 18). 3) Visit a crafting NPC. 4) Pick up early gear quests like Andre's Request. 5) Start training. At 12: citizenship. At 15: trading and megaphones.

1. Take your 1st job

Every class advances at level 10 in Classic World, Magicians included. Talk to your instructor:

Still in Lith Harbor? Finish Phil's Call. Once you're level 10, Phil can send you straight to the town of your choice. The quest reminds you a job advancement can't be undone, so be sure about it first. See can you change your job, and the full table in our job advancement guide.

2. Accept The Journey Begins

Nexon's launch check-in event runs until November 18, 2026, for characters level 10 and up.

  • Talk to Maple Administrator and accept [Event] The Journey Begins.
  • Monsters level 10 or higher can drop a Maple Leaf. Trade 30 to Maple Administrator for that day's reward.
  • Once per day per account. Missing a day doesn't reset your progress.
  • Day 1 is a Snail pet, 30 Pet Food, 30 Red Potions and 30 Blue Potions. Day 2 and Day 10 give 3 Safety Charms each.

From October 28 the Halloween events add Halloween Candies for level 10+ characters as well.

3. Try crafting

Crafting opens to characters level 10 and above. Visit a crafting NPC to see recipes, and keep your ores and ETC drops instead of selling them on day one. Who teaches what is in our crafting professions guide.

4. Grab the early gear quests

Andre's Request, the third step of Nella's chain in Kerning City (level 10, after Don Hwang's Request and Shumi's Request), rewards Work Gloves along with 188 EXP and 351 mesos. Budget for it: the quest text says you pay Nella a 1,000-meso commission to start the chain, and Andre's Request also wants 30 Octopus kills, 20 Octopus Legs and 1 Pure Water. Quests like this hand you gear you'd otherwise have to buy. Our quest-or-grind page explains when quests are worth the detour.

5. Start training

Your first real training maps are around Victoria Island. Level 10 to 11 takes 1,716 EXP, and it climbs from there. Route by level: where to train from 10 to 30.
