Kerning City Party Quest (KPQ) in Classic World: Level, NPC and Channels
Nothing says classic Maple like a full party shouting "need 1 more for KPQ!" in Kerning City. The Kerning City Party Quest is back in Classic World under the name "First Time Together", and it's the first party quest you can run.
The essentials
| Name | First Time Together (Kerning City Party Quest) |
| Level | 21 and above |
| Start NPC | Lakelis, Kerning City |
| Channels | 3 to 12 |
| Final boss | King Slime (level 32, 16,820 HP, 2,400 EXP in the game data) |
| One-time quest | Proof of Companionship (Lakelis, Lv 21): defeat King Slime once |
How it works
Grab a party, talk to Lakelis in Kerning City, and you're in. Nexon describes the quest as your party solving puzzles, defeating monsters, and facing King Slime at the end.
Before your first run, accept Proof of Companionship from Lakelis. Killing King Slime completes it for 1,870 EXP (about 7.7% of a level at 21, 4% at 25), 687 mesos and one random Intermediate earring scroll (STR, DEX, INT or LUK), per the quest data.
Channels: where to find a party
KPQ only runs on specific channels. According to the Grand Launch release notes, it's channels 3 to 12. During Founder's Access it was moved to channels 3 to 6 only (Nexon's October 8 update), and Nexon added more at Grand Launch: the Grand Launch maintenance notice lists them as channels 8 to 12, so it doesn't mention channel 7. If you can't get in, hop channels inside that range before you give up.
The same maintenance notice changed the rewards: the Companion's Magic Box you get at the end now gives fewer gem ores (Garnet through Black Crystal) and can drop the Lakelis Statue housing decoration.
A note for KPQ veterans
If you ran KPQ in old GMS, you'll remember the stages, the coupon passes and the bonus stage. Nexon's notes don't list the stages, so treat old-GMS memories as a guide, not a rulebook. Our stage-by-stage KPQ walkthrough covers the coupons, the rope, kitten and barrel puzzles, King Slime and the rewards, and marks what's confirmed by game data versus community-reported.
