EXP Calculator

Pick where you are and where you want to be, and this calculator adds up the EXP you need from the Classic World EXP table, then turns it into kills of the monster you're grinding. Add how many you kill per minute and you get a rough time to the goal. Getting from level 1 to 30 takes 548,637 EXP; level 100 takes 18,194,778,397.

Monster to grind: Orange Mushroom (Lv 8)
545,290 EXP

From level 10 to level 30.

Kills of Orange Mushroom36,35315 EXP each
Estimated time—Add kills per minute
Level 10 alone1,716EXP left in it

Base EXP from the game data. Party bonus, events, buffs and any other modifiers aren't included.

How it works

  • Total EXP adds the EXP needed for each level from your current level up to your goal, minus the share of your current level you've already filled.
  • Kills is that total divided by the monster's base EXP from the game data, rounded up. You'll level partway through, so this is kills of that one monster for the whole range.
  • Time is kills divided by your kills per minute.

Caveats: base EXP only. Party bonus, events, buffs and any other modifiers aren't included, and dying costs EXP (see death and EXP loss). The time estimate assumes nonstop killing. Level 100 is the cap.

Full numbers and the level 90+ jump are in the EXP table guide. Not sure where to grind? Try where to train, level 10–30, 30–50 and 50–70.

FAQ

How much EXP do I need to level up in MapleStory Classic World?

It depends on the level: the calculator adds up the game's EXP table for any range. From level 1 it takes 3,347 EXP to reach level 10, 548,637 to reach 30, 6,851,591 to reach 50 and 18,194,778,397 to reach the level 100 cap.

How many kills does it take to level?

Pick a monster and the calculator divides the EXP you need by that monster's base EXP from the game data, rounding up. For example, an Orange Mushroom gives 15 EXP, so level 10 to 11 (1,716 EXP) takes 115 kills.

Does the calculator include party EXP or events?

No. It uses each monster's base EXP only. Party bonuses, event boosts and any other modifiers aren't included, and the exact party bonus in Classic isn't officially published. Real kill counts will be lower if you get bonus EXP.

How is the time estimate worked out?

Kills needed divided by your kills per minute, as if you grind nonstop. It ignores walking, potion runs, deaths and channel hopping, so treat it as a best case. Time yourself for a few minutes on your map for a realistic kills-per-minute number.

What do I enter as current EXP %?

The percentage shown on your EXP bar for the level you're on now. The calculator subtracts that share of the current level's EXP from the total.
