October 22 Patch: Debt System for RMT, Server Optimizations and KPQ Pass Fix

Classic World got its first patch since Grand Launch. Nexon ran an unscheduled maintenance on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM PDT (8:00 to 10:00 PM UTC). Windia was down for the full two hours. The headline change: a new Debt System that claws mesos back from accounts caught in real-money trading (RMT).
Quick answer: the October 22 patch added the Debt System (accounts flagged for RMT or trading illegitimate mesos/items owe mesos and can't trade until they repay), added server optimizations for the launch crowd, fixed KPQ coupons and passes not dropping for accounts below the trade requirement, and fixed the missing green option on the Signature Eye Color Coupon. Cash Shop items in your inventory were extended by 2 hours. Restart the Nexon Launcher or Steam to get the new client.
What changed
- Server stability. Nexon says more players showed up after Grand Launch than expected, so this patch adds "optimizations and preventative measures" to keep the servers stable. No details beyond that.
- Debt System added. Full breakdown below.
- KPQ fix. Accounts that hadn't met the trade requirement yet (level 15 plus a 24-hour wait) couldn't drop Kerning City Party Quest coupons and passes. That's fixed.
- Signature Eye Color Coupon. Green was missing from the color list. It's selectable now.
- Compensation. Cash Shop items in your inventory got 2 extra hours to cover the downtime.
After the maintenance, restart the Nexon Launcher or Steam so you're on the updated client.
The Debt System, explained
Nexon had already been handing out temporary bans to players buying or selling mesos and items for real money. The Debt System goes a step further: it collects mesos back from accounts involved in RMT or "unfair trading", which Nexon defines as trades involving illegitimately obtained mesos or items.
What happens while you're in debt
You get a pop-up on every login showing your debt and the restrictions. A "Repay Illegal Mesos" button sits at the top center of your screen until the debt is cleared. Until then you can't:
Blocked while in debt
---
Use a Store Permit
Use a Hired Merchant
Trade (in-game items and Cash items)
Gift from the Cash Shop
Drop items on the ground
Everything else (hunting, questing, partying) isn't on Nexon's list, so you can still play and farm the mesos to pay it off.
How to repay
- Go to a town. Payments only work there.
- Click "Repay Illegal Mesos" at the top center of the screen.
- Enter an amount. It defaults to your full debt, or to all the mesos in your inventory if you hold less than that. The minimum is 1 meso, and you can't pay more than you're carrying.
- Click Confirm, then OK to pay (or Cancel to back out).
You can pay in installments. Once the debt hits zero, every restriction lifts and the button disappears.
If you think the debt landed on your account by mistake, contact Nexon Player Support.
What it means for regular players
If you've never bought or sold mesos, nothing changes for you. The thing to watch is the "illegitimately obtained mesos or items" part: the system can hit accounts that received dirty mesos in a trade, not only the sellers. Two practical habits:
- Be wary of Free Market deals that look too good, especially big meso sums from strangers for cheap items. Our Free Market trading guide covers safe trading.
- Never buy mesos. Beyond bans, you may now have to pay every meso back out of your own farming. See botting, bans and the Lie Detector for the rest of the rules.
