Trading in MapleStory Classic World: Trade Lock, Free Market and Megaphones
The Free Market was the heart of classic Maple: rows of shops, megaphone wars, and haggling over scrolls (in old GMS, the famous 60% ones; Classic World uses Lesser, Intermediate and Greater tiers instead). Classic World keeps the player economy front and center, with a few new rules you need to know before your first trade.
The trade lock: level 15 + 24 hours
New accounts start with a trade restriction. All trading unlocks 24 hours after any character on the account reaches level 15.
So the fastest way to start trading is simply to get one character to 15 early, then keep playing for a day.
Megaphones need level 15
Since Grand Launch, every megaphone type requires level 15: Megaphone, Super Megaphone, Item Megaphone and Double Item Megaphone. Before October 21 it was level 10. Megaphones already in your inventory before the change kept their old requirement.
The Free Market
Nexon added Free Market Rooms 12 to 20 at Grand Launch, so there's a lot more room for shops than during Founder's Access. Bring a store permit to set up shop. The launch check-in event hands out a Regular Store Permit on days 4 and 12 (see launch events).
Cash currencies
- NX is shared between Classic World and modern MapleStory, and you can gift Cash Shop items to other players with NX.
- Leaf Points are a Classic World-only alternative Cash currency.
- Maple Points from modern MapleStory don't carry over.
Don't buy mesos
Real-money trading breaks Nexon's rules, and Classic World shares bans with modern MapleStory: a ban in one is a ban in both. It isn't worth losing your account over a few Ilbis.
