Classic World has two job advancements at launch: 1st job at level 10 and 2nd job at level 30. The level cap is 100, and no 3rd job is available yet.

Magicians advance at level 10 in Classic World, not level 8. In old GMS, Magicians could take 1st job at level 8. Nexon's Grand Launch notes give level 10 for all four classes, and some guides still list the old number.

The same NPC handles both advancements, so you return to your class's town at level 30. In between, the 2nd job quest chain sends you out to a Job Instructor in the field map listed above.

1st job: level 10

Every character starts as a Beginner on Maple Island, then sails to Victoria Island. At level 10, head to your class's town and talk to the instructor in the table. Pick the class whose playstyle you want for the long run. Your 1st job decides which 2nd jobs you can choose later.

2nd job: level 30

At level 30, talk to the same instructor again. 2nd job is a four-quest chain in the game data: your instructor gives you a letter for the Job Instructor in the field (both of the first two quests pay 4,780 EXP), the Job Instructor sends you into a test map to collect 30 Dark Marbles, and you bring The Proof of a Hero back home to pick one specialised path. The full walkthrough is in our 2nd job advancement quests guide. This is the bigger decision, because it locks in your skills for the rest of launch content.

  • Warrior: Fighter, Page or Spearman
  • Magician: Wizard (Fire/Poison), Wizard (Ice/Lightning) or Cleric
  • Bowman: Hunter or Crossbowman
  • Thief: Assassin or Bandit

What comes after 2nd job

Nexon's release notes stop at 2nd job. Nexon has said content such as 3rd job and some regions "may be introduced sequentially", but it hasn't given dates. We'll update this guide as soon as a date is announced.
