Page Guide for MapleStory Classic World: Skills, SP Build, Sword vs Blunt (Lv 30โ70)
The Page is the Warrior's sword-or-blunt 2nd job. Like every Warrior branch, you keep killing with Power Strike and Slash Blast; the Page adds Threaten (slows mobs and lowers their WDEF), a heavy single-target Final Attack, weapon Mastery and Booster, Rush, and the option to carry a shield. In a theoretical community damage model at level 70 it's second only to Fighter on damage per MP.
Quick answer: Rush 1 at 30 โ Blunt (or Sword) Mastery to 3 then 5 โ one point of Threaten at 33 โ max Mastery by 38 โ max Final Attack by 48 โ max Threaten by 57 โ Booster, then Rush. All spare AP into STR. Two-handed blunt is the damage pick; one-handed plus shield is the safety pick.
No elemental charges at 2nd job. If you remember charge Pages from old GMS: the Page skill list in the Classic World skill data is Sword and Blunt Weapon Mastery, Booster and Final Attack, plus Rush and Threaten. Nothing else. Third job isn't in the game yet.
Becoming a Page at level 30
Go back to Dances with Balrog in Perion, start the 2nd job advancement, carry his letter to the Warrior Job Instructor in West Rocky Mountain IV, collect 30 Dark Marbles in the test map and bring back The Proof of a Hero, then choose Page (2nd job quest guide). Finish your 1st job SP first; community guides say 2nd job SP can't be spent on 1st job skills. A common community 1st job endpoint is Power Strike 20, Slash Blast 19, Precise Strikes 15, Improved HP Recovery 3, Max HP Increase 3 and Iron Body 1 (Warrior 1โ30 guide).
Page skills
Max levels, prerequisites, costs and "at max" effects are from the Classic World skill data.
| Skill | Max | Requires | At max |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blunt Weapon Mastery / Sword Mastery | 20 | None | Mastery 10. Blunt adds +20% Critical Damage; Sword adds +20 Accuracy |
| Blunt Weapon Booster / Sword Booster | 20 | Matching Mastery Lv 5 | 2 Attack Speed stages for 300 sec. Cost drops from 30 HP/MP to 10 HP/MP |
| Final Attack: Blunt Weapon / Sword | 30 | Matching Mastery Lv 3 | 25% proc, 360% damage, one target, 16 MP per proc |
| Threaten | 30 | None | Up to 4 mobs lose 35 Speed and 10 WDEF for 30 sec. 10 MP at Lv 1, 25 MP at max |
| Rush | 20 | None | 80% damage, 6 mobs, 15 MP at max (35 MP at Lv 1) |
Booster gives its full speed boost from level 1; extra points only buy duration and cheaper recasts.
SP build: levels 30โ70
The build guide's order for a community two-handed blunt Page. Sword Pages swap in the sword skills at the same levels.
| Level | Spend | Running total |
|---|---|---|
| 30 | Rush +1 | Rush 1 |
| 31 | Mastery +3 | Mastery 3 (opens Final Attack) |
| 32 | Mastery +2, Booster +1 | Mastery 5, Booster 1 |
| 33 | Threaten +1, Mastery +2 | Threaten 1, Mastery 7 |
| 34โ37 | Mastery +12 | Mastery 19 |
| 38 | Mastery +1, Final Attack +2 | Mastery 20, FA 2 |
| 39โ47 | Final Attack +27 | FA 29 |
| 48 | Final Attack +1, Threaten +2 | FA 30, Threaten 3 |
| 49โ57 | Threaten +27 | Threaten 30 |
| 58 | Booster +3 | Booster 4 |
| 59โ63 | Booster +15 | Booster 19 |
| 64 | Booster +1, Rush +2 | Booster 20, Rush 3 |
| 65โ69 | Rush +15 | Rush 18 |
| 70 | Rush +2, 1 spare point | Rush 20 |
The build guide's optional changes: raise Threaten earlier after max Mastery if you want to pull several mobs toward you (Final Attack maxes later), take Booster to 10 sooner for cheaper upkeep, or Rush to 10 sooner since it hits its full 150 movement distance at Lv 10. Don't spam Rush 1: 35 MP a cast adds up fast.
Grind loop: keep Booster up, Threaten fresh mobs, Rush into position, then Power Strike singles or Slash Blast groups. Recast Threaten when its 30 seconds run out.
Threaten explained
The skill data's numbers: Threaten 1 costs 10 MP and gives โ5 Speed and โ2 WDEF for 15 seconds; max Threaten costs 25 MP and gives โ35 Speed and โ10 WDEF for 30 seconds on up to 4 mobs. The build guide also says its range grows at skill level 16 to 300 px left and right; the skill data doesn't list a range for Threaten, so treat that as unconfirmed.
What it does and doesn't do:
- Lowers enemy Speed and WDEF. It does not lower their Attack Power, and it doesn't improve your Accuracy.
- The slow is the everyday win. Slowed mobs stay grouped longer and reach you later.
- The WDEF cut helps physical attackers only. Against Jr. Balrog (level 80, 15 WDEF), max Threaten drops its WDEF to 5 and raises the sample Page's average Power Strike by about 9.5%, per the build guide. Magic damage isn't affected.
Final Attack: on or off?
Page's Final Attack hits one target for 360% on a 25% proc. The build guide's comparison:
| You attack with | Mobs in front | FA on vs off |
|---|---|---|
| Power Strike | any | 9% more |
| Slash Blast | 2 | 9% more |
| Slash Blast | 3 | about even |
| Slash Blast | 4 | 5% less |
So it's always on for Power Strike, and off once Slash Blast is hitting three or more. Each proc costs 16 MP at max. Also turn it off when Power Strike already one-shots: the extra animation just slows you down.
Sword or blunt? Shield or two-hander?
Page has four real options, and each weapon family needs its own Mastery, Booster and Final Attack, so don't split SP.
- Blunt has wider damage rolls and +20% Critical Damage from Mastery. The build guide also notes Weaponcrafting offers Titan at skill level 8 as a level 40 blunt upgrade, with no matching level 40 sword recipe.
- Sword gives tighter rolls (easier guaranteed kills) and +20 Accuracy from Mastery.
- Two-handed vs one-handed: at level 30, the build guide's Mithril Maul (2H) does about 17% more damage per minute than War Hammer (1H). At level 70, Gigantic Sledge models 221,601 damage per minute against 180,653 for The Judgement.
- Shield Guard can fully block eligible physical hits: 18.0% on a clean Red Cross Shield, 27.7% on a Gold Ancient Shield. Magic attacks can't be Guarded.
AP and accuracy
Everything spare goes to STR. Count gear DEX, then add only enough base DEX for the next weapon. The build guide's sample from 135 STR / 27 DEX at level 30:
| Levels | Per level | Base stats at end |
|---|---|---|
| 31โ36 | 3 STR, 2 DEX | 153 STR / 39 DEX |
| 37โ57 | 4 STR, 1 DEX | 237 STR / 60 DEX |
| 58โ70 | 5 STR | 302 STR / 60 DEX |
Gear adds the last 10 DEX for Gigantic Sledge. Accuracy gear and potions remove misses, but they don't count as DEX for requirements. The build guide's 100% hit targets at equal level: Jr. Wraith (34) 82 ACC, Wraith (48) 104 ACC, Croco (52) 101 ACC. The sample Page sits at 73 ACC at level 30.
Gear by level
The build guide's blunt weapon checkpoints (W.ATK in brackets):
| Level | One-handed blunt | Two-handed blunt |
|---|---|---|
| 30 | War Hammer (49) | Mithril Maul (52) |
| 35 | Heavy Hammer (54) | Sledgehammer (60) |
| 40 | Jacker (59) | Titan (65) |
| 50 | Knuckle Mace (69) | Golden Mole (75) |
| 60 | Tamus (77) | The Blessing (85) |
| 70 | The Judgement (87) | Gigantic Sledge (95) |
For sword Pages, the build guide's level 70 examples are Red Katana (1H, 87) and Doombringer (2H, 93).
All W.ATK values match the item data. Only Sledgehammer (Weaponcrafting 7), Titan (Weaponcrafting 8) and Golden Mole (Weaponcrafting 10) have crafting recipes; none of these weapons is a quest reward, and drop sources and shop stock aren't in the game data. At level 30 that means trading for a War Hammer or Mithril Maul, or keeping your level 25 weapon until Sledgehammer at 35. On gloves, Attack scrolls beat Critical Rate scrolls: about 2.68% more expected damage on the level 70 build, even with blunt's extra Crit Damage.
Where to train
A community training calculator picks these for a Page: Line 1 <Area 1> at 30โ34, Ant Tunnels through the 40s, The Burnt Land at 50โ54, Forest Up North VIII/IX in the late 50s and early 60s, then The Forest of Evil II. Full tables in Page training spots. Note that the Forest Up North VIII/IX picks are level 33 Curse Eyes (17 and 20 spawns), chosen for safe, guaranteed kills rather than EXP; if your accuracy allows, the Kerning Subway Wraith maps (Wraith, level 48) pay far more per kill.
What's next: White Knight
Page advances to White Knight through Tylus in El Nath, but third job and El Nath aren't in Classic World yet; community sources say Nexon has no date and plans a 3rd job test server in early 2027. Comparing branches? See Fighter vs Page vs Spearman.
