The Journey Begins Check-In Event: How to Get All 14 Rewards in MapleStory Classic World
The Journey Begins is Classic World's launch check-in event. Once a day, bring 30 Maple Leaves (dropped by monsters level 10+) to the Maple Administrator and you get that day's gift. There are 14 rewards in total, it's one claim per account per day, and missing a day doesn't reset you. It runs from October 21, 2026 6:00 PM UTC to November 18, 2026 11:59 PM UTC.
Quick answer: Lv. 10+ · Accept [Event] The Journey Begins from the Maple Administrator (Henesys or Kerning City) · Farm 30 Maple Leaves from Lv. 10+ mobs · Hand in once a day, once per account · 14 cumulative rewards · Full day-by-day reward table: launch events overview.
How the check-in works
- Hit level 10. The event is for characters level 10 and above.
- Accept the quest [Event] The Journey Begins (quest page) from the Maple Administrator. Our game data places him in Henesys and Kerning City. The Kerning City copy was added in the October 15 patch.
- Farm Maple Leaves. Any monster level 10 or higher has a chance to drop one.
- Trade in 30 leaves for today's reward.
The rules are generous:
- Once per day, per account. Your alts share the same check-in, so you can't claim twice a day by switching characters.
- Progress is cumulative. Rewards follow how many times you've checked in, not the calendar. Nexon's example: claim Day 1 on Monday, skip Tuesday, come back Wednesday, and you get Day 2.
- Each reward once per account. After your 14th check-in, you've got everything.
Maple Leaves are untradable (per the game data), so you can't buy them in the FM. You have to farm them yourself.
Do you have time to finish?
Yes, easily. The event window is about four weeks long and you need only 14 check-ins. Counting calendar days, a player who starts on November 5 and checks in every day after that can still reach Day 14 by November 18. Nexon hasn't said when the daily reset happens, though, so don't cut it that close. Start in October if you can.
What expires, and when
The day-by-day list is on our launch events page. What matters more is how long each reward lasts, because most of them are 7-day items:
| Duration | Rewards | Trade |
|---|---|---|
| Permanent | Red Potions, Blue Potions | Tradable within world |
| 30 days | Pet Food | Tradable within world |
| Until Nov 18, 2026 11:59 PM UTC | Snail pet (can't be revived) | Untradable |
| 7 days | Return Scrolls (Nearest Town), Cakes | Tradable within world |
| 7 days | Safety Charms, Regular Store Permits, Megaphones, Atmospheric Effect Boxes, Item Megaphones | Untradable |
What this means in practice:
- Use the 7-day items, don't hoard them. A Safety Charm sitting in your inventory for a week and then vanishing is a waste. Claim on the character you're actively leveling.
- Megaphones from this event need level 15. Nexon raised the Megaphone level requirement from 10 to 15 at Grand Launch, and that applies to event rewards too.
- Store Permit = free FM shop for a week. A Regular Store Permit lets you list up to 12 items in a field or the Free Market. Have something to sell before you claim it on Day 4 or Day 12 (see our trading guide).
- The Snail pet is temporary. It expires when the event ends and can't be revived.
Farming tips
- Stack it with other events. From October 28, Malady's Halloween Candies event also wants drops from Lv. 10+ monsters, so one grind session feeds both.
- Just train normally. 30 leaves a day comes naturally from regular leveling. Use our level 10–30 training spots and hand in when you're back in town.
- Mark of the Beta is separate. Jay's Lv. 25 treasure hunt is a different event. See the Mark of the Beta guide.
