Halloween Candies Event Guide: Malady, 100 Candies and the Pumpkin Basket in MapleStory Classic World

Talk to Malady in Henesys or Kerning City, farm 100 Halloween Candies from any monster level 10 or higher, hand them in, then finish her hidden follow-up quest. That hidden quest pays out the Pumpkin Basket, a one-handed sword with +27 Weapon Attack and +3 Speed. The event runs from October 28, 2026 12:00 AM UTC to November 18, 2026 11:59 PM UTC, and you need to be level 10 or higher.

When it runs and who can join

It starts a week after Grand Launch, so a fresh character has time to hit level 10 and finish 1st job first. Everything else that launched alongside it is on our launch events overview.

Step by step

1. Accept the quest. Find Malady in Henesys or Kerning City and take [Event] Halloween Candies (quest page).
2. Farm 100 candies. Monsters level 10 and up have a chance to drop them. The quest text itself points at Ribbon Pigs, Dark Stumps, Octopuses and Green Mushrooms as examples.
3. Hand them in. Bring all 100 back to Malady.
4. Do the hidden mission. Malady then offers [Event] Trick or Treat! (quest page). She splits the candy into three pouches for children spending Halloween alone, and you deliver one to the child in a dark tunnel, one to the child on an open field and one to the child up on high ground.
5. Collect the Pumpkin Basket from Malady once all three pouches are delivered.

Where to farm the candies

Any monster level 10 or higher can drop candies. Nexon hasn't published a drop rate, so we can't tell you how many kills 100 candies takes. The four examples from the quest text are all early Victoria Island mobs:

The best approach is to keep training wherever your level puts you (our level 10–30 training guide covers that) and let the candies pile up while you level. Two other things help:

• Orange Slimes spawn in Henesys, Ellinia, Kerning City and Perion during the same window and also drop Halloween Candies. See the Orange Slimes event guide.

Halloween Candies are untradable and expire on November 18, 2026 at 11:59 PM UTC. You can't buy them in the FM, and leftover candies disappear when the event ends.

Pumpkin Basket stats

For context: the shop-tier Long Sword also has 27 Weapon Attack at level 10, but it needs 20 STR. Our game data lists only a level requirement for the Pumpkin Basket, plus +3 Speed the Long Sword doesn't have. That makes it a nice event sword for a new Warrior heading to 2nd job. Since it's tradable within your world, you can also sell a spare one in the Free Market.

Neither quest is marked repeatable in the game data, so plan on one basket per character. Nexon hasn't said whether the event is limited per account.
