Housing in MapleStory Classic World: How to Buy, Decorate and Visit a House
Housing is brand new in Classic World (it was never in the original game). To get a house, become a citizen of Henesys or Kerning City, reach citizenship grade Visitor (level 17), finish the town's short housing quest, then buy the house with mesos from the Housing Registrar: Bianca in Henesys or Scarlett in Kerning City. You can own one home at a time, and it's shared by every character on your account.
Checklist: level 12 → citizen with Arthur or Roxy → grade Visitor (needs level 17) → The Right to Own a Home → Looking for a House → buy from Bianca or Scarlett → decorate with furniture from Oak or Weston.
How much a house costs hasn't been published. Nexon's notes only say it's paid in mesos, and we haven't seen a confirmed price yet. We'll add it once it's verified.
For the short version of citizenship + housing, see the overview. Grades are explained in Citizenship Grades and Rewards.
Step 1: Become a citizen and reach Visitor
Citizenship opens at level 12. Pick Henesys (guide) or Kerning City (guide), then grind Contribution from the Community Board until you're promoted to Visitor, grade 2. Visitor also needs you to be at least level 17. The Contribution needed isn't confirmed for the live game, so the fastest plan is simple: clear your daily every day and never skip a weekly donation.
The house is in the town where you're a citizen, so choose your town with the house in mind.
Step 2: The housing quests
At grade 2 your town clerk offers a two-step chain. Each step pays 772 EXP, 388 mesos and 100 Contribution.
| Town | Quest 1 | Quest 2 | Registrar | Free starter furniture |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Henesys | The Right to Own a Home: Arthur → Tommy | Looking for a House: Tommy → Bianca (east side of Henesys) | Bianca | Oak Window, Corked Storage Jar, Oak Barrel |
| Kerning City | The Right to Own a Home: Roxy → Jack | Looking for a House: Jack → Scarlett (center of Kerning City) | Scarlett | Metal Window, Small Potted Vine, Metal Trash Can |
Step 3: Buy the house
Talk to your Registrar and pay in mesos. Community records name the homes as the Yellow Mushroom House (Henesys) and the Backalley Semi-Basement (Kerning City). Rules from Nexon:
- One home at a time.
- Account-wide: every character on the account shares the same house.
- You can invite other players over and visit their homes.
To get home fast from anywhere, use a Return Scroll to My Home ("returns you to your warm and cozy home"). It has a 1-hour cooldown in the game data, so it's not a free teleport you can spam. Community testing says an alt can use one to reach the same shared house, and leaving drops you outside the house in its town.
Decorating: furniture and what it does
Per community records, you manage furniture from your mailbox → Home Decoration. Furniture is bought from your town's furnishings shop, and it's town-themed: Henesys gets sunflowers, cherry wood and oak; Kerning City gets metal shelves, street signs and fire hydrants. Some pieces are just for show, others can be sat on, lain on, switched on/off or opened.
Furniture prices from community shop records (stock unlocks by grade):
| Price | Henesys (Oak) | Kerning City (Weston) | Grade |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 mesos | windows, bookshelf, bench, plants, barrels, garden plot | windows, bookshelf, bench, signs, trash can, steel drum | Visitor |
| 5,000 | Cherry Bench | Purple Barstool | Helpful Stranger |
| 10,000 | Yellow Butterfly / Worn Wooden Chest | Little Bug / Rusty Safe | Helpful Stranger / Visitor |
| 100,000 | Henesys Table | Kerning City Table | Town Resident |
| 300,000 | Straw Training Dummy | Straw Training Dummy | Recognized Guest |
| 500,000 | Henesys Flag | Kerning City Flag | Guardian of the Village |
| 1,000,000 | Portrait of Helena | Portrait of the Dark Lord | Citizen of Honor |
Other decorations come from content: the Kerning City Party Quest's Companion's Magic Box can drop the Lakelis Statue housing decoration since Grand Launch (KPQ guide).
Functional furniture: storage, crafting and training
At the Fest 2026 dev panel, Nexon said homes can hold functional pieces like storage or a crafting station. The game data backs this up:
- Storage chests: the Worn Wooden Chest and Rusty Safe "can be placed in your home and used for storage." Community records say home storage links to your normal account storage (fees and citizen discounts still apply), so it's convenience, not extra space.
- Crafting stations: an Anvil, Weaponcrafting Station, Sewing Machine, Woodworking Station, Leatherworking Station and Arcane Station can all be placed in a home, covering the six crafting professions. You don't buy these: each one is crafted by its own profession at level 3, for a 100,000-meso fee plus materials (20 Screws and Processed Wood in every recipe, plus ingots, cloth, leather or Fragments of Magic depending on the station).
- Straw Training Dummy: "can be placed in your home and attacked freely."
Community records list these slot limits (unconfirmed by Nexon): 14 decorations at Visitor, 16 from Helpful Stranger; 1 storage slot for 10,000 mesos; the first training slot from Recognized Guest; the first crafting-station slot for 50,000 mesos.
