Pia's Present For a Friend Quest Guide in MapleStory Classic World

Pia's Present For a Friend is a 4-quest chain from Pia in Henesys Park, open at level 42 if you did her old Pia and the Blue Mushroom quest. She wants to build a claw for a friend, then asks you to sort out a borrowed Red Cape with Rina. It pays 33,522 EXP (about 9% of level 42), 4,921 mesos, 50 Blue Potions and one random Greater cape stat scroll (STR, DEX, INT or LUK).

Step-by-step walkthrough

Steps 3 and 4 are given by Rina, not Pia. Rina holds the cape hostage until you pay back what Pia borrowed, then you carry it home.

Getting the materials

Most of this list isn't monster loot you'd pick up while training. What the game data says about each piece:

• Silver Ingot ×15: Smithing level 4 refines 5 Silver Ore into 1 ingot for a 400-meso fee, so 15 ingots = 75 Silver Ore + 6,000 mesos in fees.
• Screw ×30: Weaponcrafting level 1 turns 1 Bronze Ingot + 1 Iron Ingot into 10 Screws (no fee), so 30 Screws = 3 Bronze + 3 Iron Ingots (each Smithing level 1: 5 ore + 100 mesos).
• Black Crystal: Arcforge level 6 refines 1 Black Crystal Ore for a 1,200-meso fee. The ore has no quest or recipe source in the data, and the item text calls the crystal very rare.
• Dragon Skin ×30 and Ancient Scroll: no quest or crafting source in the game data, and drop tables aren't in the data. Dragon Skin is described as "a dragon's skin", so the Drake family is the likely source (unverified). If you're also doing Manji's Old Gladius, note it needs an Ancient Scroll too.

See where to get crafting materials and the crafting professions guide, or check the Free Market.

Medicine With Weird Vibes is the one piece you farm: its item description says Wraiths leave it behind. Wraiths are level 48, six above the chain's gate. Spawn counts per map, densest first:

• Wraith (Lv 48): Line 2 <Area 3> (68, Wraiths only), Line 1 <Area 4> (59), Line 2 <Area 2> (57), Line 1 <Area 3> (48), B3 <Subway Depot> (10)

Is it worth it?

Usually not, unless you craft or already have the materials. Our take assumes you'd have to buy most of the list:

• The final scroll is random, so there's a 3-in-4 chance it's not your main stat. And Greater scrolls only succeed 10% of the time.
• The EXP and mesos are fine but not special for level 42.
• If you're a crafter sitting on Silver Ingots and Screws, it's an easy turn-in. Otherwise sell those materials instead.
