How to Get Work Gloves in MapleStory Classic World

You get Work Gloves in Classic World two ways: finish Andre's Request, the third quest in Nella's Kerning City errand chain (level 10), or craft them with Tailoring at profession level 2. No NPC shop sells them, and there's no published drop rate for them.

What Work Gloves are

They're the first gloves most players own, and five slots means they're the classic first target for a Gloves Attack scroll. See how to get a Gloves Attack Scroll.

Route 1: Nella's Kerning City chain (level 10)

Andre's Request is locked behind the two errands before it. All three come from Nella in Kerning City, and each pays 188 EXP and 351 mesos.

The only awkward item is the Pure Water: it costs 1,120 mesos and is sold in Sleepywood (community shop listings), a long trip for a level 10. Our Pure Water guide has the exact shops.

Where to hunt: Construction Site North of Kerning City, two maps from Nella (Kerning City → Sunset Sky → Construction Site), has Dark Stump (11), Orange Mushroom (9) and Octopus (8) on one map, so it covers most of all three steps. It also has a single Lv 19 Blue Mushroom, 11 levels above the Orange Mushrooms, so give it room. For Ribbon Pigs, L Forest I is the densest map (21), but it's mixed-level: one Lv 28 Iron Hog spawns there too, which will hurt at level 10. For more Octopus, Damp Tree-Forest (19) and Damp Forest (15) have the most, and both are mixed-level for a level-10 character: Damp Tree-Forest has 6 Lv 23 Dark Axe Stumps and 8 Lv 21 Jr. Neckis, Damp Forest has 11 Jr. Neckis. The Construction Site's 8 Octopus are the safer pick at 10. Also see where to train from 10 to 30.

Route 2: Tailoring

Tailoring can make Work Gloves at profession level 2.

Processed Cloth is itself a Tailoring material (for example 10 Leaf or 10 Pig's Ribbon per cloth), and one Animal Fur Bundle makes 10 Spool of Thread. The game data has no drop source for Animal Fur Bundle; community drop tables (pre-launch, unverified) list Ribbon Pig at about 1 in 20 kills and Pig at about 1 in 42. The level 65 John route (Beginners only)

John's Present, the second of John's Deep Forest of Patience quests in Lith Harbor (level 65), gives job-specific gloves. Its Work Gloves reward is flagged for Beginners only; Warriors, Magicians, Bowmen and Thieves get Dark Clench, Dark Manute, Dark Garner or Steel Pow instead.
