You turn NX into mesos by buying a tradable Cash Shop item and selling it to another player in the Free Market. There's no exchange NPC, so the only thing that matters is how many mesos each item gets you per NX. The gap is huge: the cheap pet skills pay about 17 to 18 mesos per NX, reset scrolls and sealed crates about 12, and the popular move of opening crates and selling what's inside about 6.6.
Quick answer: Buy Auto MP Potion Skill and Auto HP Potion Skill (2,500 NX, sell for about 45K and 43K), then Auto Move and Expanded Auto Move (3,000 NX, about 50K). They beat everything else that sells in numbers. Buy them one at a time, because the Pet Booster pack can't be traded. Don't open crates for mesos, and skip the Halloween crate.

"11-pack" is the 35,000 NX bundle: 11 crates for the price of 10. These are prices before the store fee. Players report 3%, but Nexon hasn't published a fee, so plan on keeping about 97% of the list price.
Water of Life and Pet Name Tag have the best rates on paper, but with only a handful of sales, one or two is all that market will take. Grab one of each if you like; don't build a plan on them.
What to do with your NX
You have about 7,500 NX: two Auto MP and one Auto HP. That's about 133K before the fee, against about 91K for one SP Reset with the same money.
You have 35,000 NX: spread it across all four pet skills, so you never flood one item:

The same 35,000 NX makes about 459K in sealed crates and about 412K in SP Resets, if everything sells at today's price.
You have 70,000 NX or more: the pet skills will start to run out of buyers at some point, so add SP Resets, the deepest market of all, and sealed crates while they're on sale. List a few at a time, and don't undercut yourself.
You want the outfit too: that's the one good reason to open a crate. See sell or open for what to keep and what goes straight to stamps.
Four mistakes that cost the most
- Opening crates "to see what you get". The sealed box sells for about twice what the average item inside does. The math is here.
- Buying the Halloween crate for mesos. It costs 1,400 NX more than the regular crate and sells for less. It only makes sense if you want the outfits.
- Buying a pack to resell. The Pet Booster Essentials Pack (all four pet skills) and the Convenience Essentials Pack (AP and SP Resets) look cheap, but Nexon says both the package and its contents are untradable. Nothing from them can be sold. What you resell has to be bought on its own.
- Waiting on a crate. Crates have a 7-day timer. One you can't sell in time is 3,500 NX gone. Buy only what you can list that week.
When to buy and when to sell
Pet skills held up all week: Auto MP and Auto HP sat around 45K on October 26 and 45K to 50K by October 31. SP Reset climbed from about 70K to 85K to 90K over the same days. That's one week of data, not a promise. A pet owner only needs each skill once, so if lots of players read this and start selling, the price will drop. Check it before you buy in bulk.
Crates move around much more, roughly 30K to 45K from day to day, and they have a 7-day timer, so you can't wait forever for a better day. Pet skills and resets have no timer in the game data.
The regular crate leaves the Cash Shop on November 4 at 7:59 AM UTC. What its price does after that, we don't know.
Before you start
- Trade lock: new accounts can't trade until 24 hours after a character on the account reaches level 15. See trading rules.
- Mystery items: players in Belgium, Slovakia and Brazil can't buy them. Crate items from the Netherlands can't leave the account.
- Leaf Points: they buy Cash Shop items too, so they could be a free route into this. We haven't confirmed whether items bought with Leaf Points can be traded, so check the item in-game before counting on it.
