MapleStory Classic World Down: Emergency Maintenance Oct 30, Back Around 5 PM PDT
Classic World just kicked everyone out. On Friday, October 30 at 3:00 PM PDT (10:00 PM UTC), every player was disconnected and the servers went down for an unscheduled emergency maintenance. Nothing was announced in advance: the last planned maintenance was the v1.1.0 update on October 29. Nexon posted the notice as the servers went down.
Quick answer: It's not you. All Classic World servers are offline for emergency maintenance. Nexon expects it to take about 2 hours, ending around 5:00 PM PDT / 8:00 PM EDT / 00:00 UTC (1:00 AM CET, 11:00 AM AEDT on October 31). Don't reinstall; just wait for the servers to come back.
Downtime by time zone
| Time zone | Down | Expected back |
|---|---|---|
| PDT (UTC−7) | 3:00 PM, Oct 30 | ~5:00 PM, Oct 30 |
| EDT (UTC−4) | 6:00 PM, Oct 30 | ~8:00 PM, Oct 30 |
| UTC | 10:00 PM, Oct 30 | ~00:00, Oct 31 |
| CET | 11:00 PM, Oct 30 | ~1:00 AM, Oct 31 |
| AEDT (UTC+11) | 9:00 AM, Oct 31 | ~11:00 AM, Oct 31 |
"About 2 hours" is Nexon's estimate, not a promise. Emergency maintenance can run long, and it can also end early.
What we know
- What's down: all MapleStory Classic World game servers.
- Why: Nexon only says it's "an unexpected issue". It hasn't said what broke, so we won't guess.
- What comes next: Nexon says more updates will follow. Compensation (like the Cash Shop item extensions after earlier maintenances) hasn't been mentioned yet.
What to do
- Don't reinstall the client or delete files. This is on the server side.
- If you were mid-trade, mid-shop or mid-boss when it hit, check your inventory and mesos when you log back in. If something is missing, take a screenshot and contact Nexon support.
For earlier updates, see the Classic World patch history. We'll update this post when the servers are back or the end time changes.
