Mystery Fashion Crate: Sell It Sealed or Open It? The Math in Classic World
If you want mesos, sell the crate sealed. A sealed Mystery Fashion Crate sold for about 43K on November 1, 2026. Using Nexon's published rates, the average thing inside is worth about 23K. Opening one costs you about 20K mesos on average, and there's a 1% shot at the one item that makes it pay. If you're buying with mesos in mind and don't own a crate yet, pet skills pay better than either.
Quick answer: Sell it sealed. If you already opened it: sell Michael Wings, Black Blazer, Heart Balloon, Silver Earrings and Toy Rifle, and turn anything worth under about 20K into an Aurora Stamp. One stamp is worth about 19K, because 5 stamps buy a Mystery Palette coupon that sells for about 97K. Only do that before you equip the item.
What a crate is really worth
Rates are Nexon's. Prices are typical Free Market sales on November 1.
| Item | Chance | Worth |
|---|---|---|
| Michael Wings | 1% | ~167K |
| Black Blazer | 1% | ~75K |
| Heart Balloon | 1% | ~40K |
Silver Earrings | 1% | ~33K |
| Toy Rifle | 1% | ~28K |
| The other ten 1% items | 10% | 40K assumed |
| Everything else | 85% | ~18.5K |
That comes to about 23K per crate. We didn't price all 50 items one by one, so the "other ten" row is a deliberately generous guess; the common pieces we checked (Race Ace Suit, Green Camping Hat, Blue Frill Blouse, Blue Bell Dress, Orange Hooded Vest) sell for 16K to 20K. Even with that guess, opening loses to the 43K sealed price by a mile.
Why are sealed boxes worth more than what's inside? Because buyers pay for the chance, and because they want the outfit. If you're the one with the box, you get to sell that hope instead of buying it.
Buying sealed crates at 43K to open them is the same trade from the wrong side. Don't, unless you want the outfits. Also, players report that a crate can only change hands once: buying one from a player uses its one trade, so you can't flip it.
The chance of hitting Michael Wings
| Crates opened | Chance of at least one |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1% |
| 11 | 10.5% |
| 50 | 39.5% |
Eleven crates sold sealed bring about 473K. To beat that by opening them, you'd need a very lucky run, and even the wings only make up a third of it.
Already opened it? Sell or stamp
The number to remember is about 19K per stamp. Five stamps buy a
Mystery Palette Exchange Coupon, which sold for about 97K, with far more sales than any crate. That's also a tradable coupon, so it's real mesos. Stamps have a price floor that plain cosmetics don't.
| Your item sells for | Do this |
|---|---|
| Over ~20K | Sell it in your shop |
| Under ~20K | Right-click it for 1 Aurora Stamp |
| You want to wear it | Keep it, but it's worth nothing to the market once equipped |
Two catches:
- Stamps only pay in fives. A stamp sitting alone is worth nothing. If you won't reach 5, sell the item for whatever it fetches.
- Stamps expire January 13, 2027 (Season 1). Don't hold them. The full rules are in our Aurora Stamps guide.
Both moves only work before you equip the item. Equip it once and it can't be traded or stamped.
Halloween crates
The Halloween crate costs 4,900 NX and sells sealed for about 36K, so it's already a bad deal for mesos (full ranking). If you open one anyway, the items to look for are Cat Soul (~480K), Devil Horns (~132K), Count Dracula Cape (~60K) and Dark Devil Hat (~36K). Most of the common pieces sell for 18K to 22K, right at the stamp line.
We haven't worked out an average for this crate: without the item-by-item rates in hand, we'd be guessing. See the crate's full item list.
