How to Get the Sauna Robe in MapleStory Classic World (Mr. Wetbottom's Secret Book)

The Sauna Robe comes from one place in Classic World: Mr. Wetbottom's Secret Book chain, which opens at level 32 in the VIP Sauna in Sleepywood and ends with Returned Secret Book. Male characters get the Blue Sauna Robe, female characters the Red Sauna Robe. No shop sells it and no drop source is known.

Why people chase it

Tops and bottoms can't take main-stat overall scrolls, so a 10-slot overall is the cheapest stat base for every class. Its item text also says HP and MP recovery is 1.5x while you wear it in the hotel sauna. Scroll odds and costs are in the scrolling guide.

The chain, step by step

Ronnie hangs out in The Tree Tunnel At the Forest Up North, north of Ellinia. Rina is in Henesys town and Rowen the Fairy is in Ellinia town. Steps 2 and 4 each also hand out 20 Blue Potions. Seven steps pay 5,850 EXP and 1,023 mesos, the two "talk to" steps (3 and 6) pay 4,095 EXP and 716 mesos: 49,140 EXP and 8,593 mesos in total, about 40% of a level at 32 (122,760 EXP to level).

Farming tips

• Lupins (step 2): Lupin is Lv 37 with 1,336 HP, five levels above the quest, so expect slower kills at 32. Densest maps: Monkey Swamp I (28), A Look-Out Shed Around the Beach (27), Sleepy Dungeon V (23). Keep the bananas: Lupin's Banana has no drop data, but the item text calls it "a Lupin's favorite", so Lupins are the likely source (unverified).
• Curse Eye Tail (step 4): no drop data either; the item text says it's a tail removed from a Curse Eye, so that's the likely source (unverified). Curse Eye (Lv 33) lives in the Tree Dungeon north of Ellinia, the Deep Forest hunting grounds and Sleepy Dungeon. Densest: Sleepy Dungeon V (23), Tree Dungeon, Forest Up North IX (20, Curse Eyes only), Hunting Ground in the Deep Forest II (20), Sleepy Dungeon III (19), Tree Dungeon, Forest Up North VIII (17) and VI (15). Mixed-level warning: Sleepy Dungeon III also holds 9 Lv 58 Dark Stone Golems, 25 levels above the Curse Eyes; the Tree Dungeon maps don't.
• Do steps 2 and 4 together: Sleepy Dungeon V has 23 Lupins and 23 Curse Eyes on one map, and Hunting Ground in the Deep Forest II has 15 Lupins next to 20 Curse Eyes. Watch out in Sleepy Dungeon V: it also holds 19 Lv 58 Dark Stone Golems.
• Pig's Head (step 4): going by the item name, Pig (Lv 7) is the likely source; the game data has no drop table to confirm it. Densest: Thicket Around the Beach II (18), A Hill West of Henesys (16), The Forest East of Henesys (15; mixed-level for a Pig map, with 2 Lv 19 Blue Mushrooms, harmless at 32). The Hill East of Henesys has only 3, so skip it.
• The Diamond (step 7) is the real gate. Arcforge can process one from a single Diamond Ore at profession level 6 (1,200 mesos fee), but there's a catch: the only Diamond Ore source in the game data is Rowen the Fairy's Collecting 100 Cursed Dolls (a 50/50 roll between 5 Diamond Ore and 5 Gold Ore), and that quest is locked behind Returned Secret Book, the last step of this chain. So for your first robe the Arcforge route only works with ore bought from other players. Otherwise buy a Diamond in the Free Market. Luke the Security Guy's level 19 quest gives one random gem out of eight, so it's a 1 in 8 (12.5%) shot at a Diamond, and you only get one try because the quest isn't repeatable.

After the robe

Finishing Returned Secret Book also unlocks Rowen the Fairy's Cursed Doll chain (level 36). Its 100-doll step can pay 5 Diamond Ore (50% chance, otherwise 5 Gold Ore), and its 150-doll step pays an Intermediate Gloves Attack or Gloves Magic Attack scroll (50/50). Keep your Cursed Dolls.
