Bandit Training Spots by Level (30โ70+) in MapleStory Classic World
If you're a Sindit, train like an Assassin until your reset around 40: Stirges, then the Ant Tunnel. After the reset (or from 30 on a pure dagger Bandit), go where mobs die in one or two Savage Blows and don't hit too hard: the Burnt Land in the early 40s, Monkey Forest around 50, Sleepy Dungeon V or the Wraith subway later. At 70, a community training calculator's sample Bandit two-shots Wraiths on the subway.
Melee rule: the best Bandit map isn't the highest-level one. It's the one where your weakest Savage Blow still kills in 1โ2 casts, at a 100% hit rate, without eating too much touch damage. Weaker mobs that always die to one Savage Blow often win.
What makes a good Bandit map
- You're in melee. Community data lists very short reach and constant face-tanking as the Bandit's main cons. One community training calculator applies a bigger danger penalty to melee than to ranged attacks, so a map that's fine for an Assassin can be a pot sink for you.
- Savage Blow roots you. One community guide points out you're locked in place for the whole animation, so flat maps with mobs walking into you work better than spread-out platforms.
- Savage Blow hits one mob. Steal can hit two, but your grind is single-target. Density and kill breakpoints decide EXP per hour.
- Accuracy gates. ACC for a guaranteed hit at equal level, from each mob's avoid in the game data and the community hit-rate formula our database uses: Fire Boar 70, Jr. Wraith 82, Lorang 79, Zombie Lupin 95, Wraith 104, Malady 108. Being below the mob's level costs roughly 3 to 4 ACC per level (Wraiths need 117 at 45).
- MP and HP both drain. Max Savage Blow costs 28 MP a cast (max Double Stab 16), and you'll take hits. Short pot runs matter.
Before the reset: Sindit, levels 30โ40
You're still throwing Lucky Seven with a claw, so use the Assassin spots. A community level 30 sample (Adamantium Guards + Wolbi) one-shots Stirges at Transfer Area, with Dangerous Steam as the alternative. At 35โ39 it moves into Ant Tunnel II, two-shotting Zombie and Horny Mushrooms; the same calculator puts the four Ant Tunnel maps within a few percent of each other there. If the model calls it a tie, take the densest: Ant Tunnel III has 99 spawns (61 Zombie Mushrooms, 38 Horny Mushrooms) to Ant Tunnel II's 47.

After the reset (or pure dagger), by level
Rows marked "Calculator" come from a community training calculator's runs on its sample Bandit builds, so they're one source. Unmarked maps appear in two community training rankings.
| Level | Map | Main mobs | Why it fits a Bandit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 32โ40 | Line 2 <Area 1> | Jr. Wraith (Lv 34) | 83 Jr. Wraith spawns, close to Kerning for pots |
| 40โ41 | Excavation Site III / Ant Tunnel II (Calculator) | Rocky Mask (Lv 24), Wooden Mask (Lv 23), mushrooms | One Double Stab kills right after the reset; rated Safe. Denser versions of the same mobs: Excavation Site II (53 spawns vs 25) and Ant Tunnel III (99 vs 47) |
| 42โ45 | The Burnt Land V / IV / III / I | Fire Boar (Lv 32), Dark Axe Stump (Lv 23) | One- or two-Savage-Blow kills (the calculator picked I and III). V and IV are denser (48 and 45 spawns vs 37 and 25) but add 12โ14 Lupins (Lv 37) with a magic attack |
| 36โ42 | A Look-Out Shed Around the Beach | Lorang (Lv 38) ร36, Lupin ร27 | 63 spawns, first map out of Florina Beach |
| 38โ44 | Monkey Swamp III | Zombie Lupin (Lv 41) ร31, Jr. Necki ร11 | The densest Zombie Lupin map; Zombie Lupins have a magic attack in the data (M.ATK 242) |
| 44โ55 | Line 2 <Area 2> | Wraith (Lv 48) ร57, Jr. Wraith ร32, Jr. Necki ร18 | 107 spawns, the densest subway map. Best map on Victoria Island in both sources |
| 50โ55 | Tree Dungeon, Monkey Forest II / Monkey Forest II (Calculator) | Zombie Lupin ร26 + Curse Eye ร4 / Zombie Lupin ร25 + Lupin ร10 | One-Savage-Blow kills at the level 50 checkpoint; 30 and 35 spawns, so Monkey Swamp III (42) is the denser Zombie Lupin map if it's free |
| 52โ58 | Dangerous Croko II | Croco (Lv 52) ร24, Jr. Necki ร21, Slime ร9 | On-level Crocos, 4 maps from Sleepywood |
| 55โ70 | Sleepy Dungeon V | Curse Eye ร23, Lupin ร23, Dark Stone Golem (Lv 58) ร19, Jr. Boogie ร10 | 88 spawns, the consensus map past 55. Mixed-level: the Golems (5,428 HP) are 21โ25 levels above the rest |
| 60โ65 | The Forest of Evil II / Remains <Tomb> (Calculator) | Malady (Lv 55) ร23 + Zombie Lupin ร16 / Skeledog (Lv 44), Mummydog (Lv 47) | All spawns within two attacks at the checkpoints; 39 spawns at Forest of Evil II, 21โ25 per Tomb map |
| 70 | Line 2 <Area 3> / Line 1 <Area 4> (Calculator) | Wraith (Lv 48) ร68 / ร59 | Two Savage Blows per Wraith, rated Safe; pure Wraith maps |
Levels 40โ45: right after the reset
The calculator's post-reset Bandit at 40 attacks with Double Stab and one-shots the masks at Excavation Site III and the mushrooms in Ant Tunnel II. Once Savage Blow takes over at 42, it moves to The Burnt Land I and III, 3 and 5 maps from Perion, where Dark Axe Stumps die to one Savage Blow and Fire Boars to two. By 45, both die in one. The Burnt Land V (48 spawns: 26 Fire Boars, 12 Lupins, 10 Dark Axe Stumps) is the densest of the five; its Lupins are Lv 37 with a magic attack, so it costs more pots.
Players report Fire Boars drop Wolbi Throwing Stars (community-reported; drop tables aren't in the game data), handy if you still throw stars on the side.
If you'd rather stay near Kerning, Line 2 <Area 1> (Jr. Wraiths) works too; check your accuracy first.
Levels 45โ55: Monkey Forest and the Wraiths
The calculator's level 50 sample (Shinkita, Jurgen Wristguard) one-shots Zombie Lupins and Curse Eyes at Tree Dungeon, Monkey Forest II, and Zombie Lupins and Lupins at Monkey Forest II, both rated Caution and 4 to 5 maps from Ellinia. It's still the top pick at 55.
Line 2 <Area 2> is the best map on Victoria Island in both community rankings. For a Bandit, it pays once Wraiths die in two Savage Blows on a bad roll; until then, Monkey Forest is the safer grind.
Levels 55โ70: Sleepy Dungeon V, then back to the subway
From 55, Sleepy Dungeon V is the consensus map, but it's mixed-level: 19 Dark Stone Golems (Lv 58) among 46 Curse Eyes and Lupins (Lv 33 and 37). The calculator's Bandit runs also like The Forest of Evil II and Remains <Tomb> maps at 60โ65, where Maladies, Skeledogs and Mummydogs die in two hits and Zombie Lupins in one.
At 70 the top calculator picks move to the subway: Line 2 <Area 3> and Line 1 <Area 4>, pure Wraith maps where a realistic level 70 Bandit build two-shots every Wraith. Both are rated Safe.
Avoid planning around Dangerous Valley II or the Tauro maps in the 60s. The game data gives their mobs timed respawns (Red Drakes 20โ60 seconds; Tauromacis 60โ120 seconds, only 2โ4 per map), and most players stay on Sleepy Dungeon V or the Wraith maps instead.
Tips for melee grinding
- Rerun your map choice after the reset. The calculator's notes are explicit: the Lucky Seven setup from your 30s can't tell you how Savage Blow will do.
- Use Double Stab on small mobs. Community data rates it cheaper on MP, so use it when it kills as reliably as Savage Blow.
- Use Steal's buff. At max level a successful steal gives +35 Attack Power for 60 seconds (90% steal chance). Each monster can only be stolen from once, so refresh it on fresh mobs.
- Wear a shield. Daggers are one-handed; a shield's Guard can reportedly fully block some physical hits.
- Have a backup map. The subway and Sleepy Dungeon V get crowded.
