How to Make Mesos as a Warrior in MapleStory Classic World
Warriors are the cheapest class to run in Classic World: no arrows, no stars, and their skills cost little MP, so most of your spending is HP food. Make mesos as a Warrior by keeping that potion bill low, doing the quests that pay cash and class gear, vendoring the weapon drops you won't use, and saving for one weapon upgrade at a time. At Lv. 40, Smithing's Iron Knuckle is nearly free crafting EXP, but not a profit once you count what the ingots and Screws cost to make.
Quick answer: Buy Red Potions or Meat (2 HP per meso), never White Potions for value. Vendor spare Long Swords, Double Axes and Metal Axes. Take Henesys citizenship and do the daily Community Board quest. Run Arwen's repeatable shoe quest from Lv. 29. Spend on weapons before armor. Never buy mesos.
This page is the Warrior-specific angle. The general version, by level, is how to make mesos. For your class basics see the Warrior class page.
Assumptions: you solo most of the time, you're between Lv. 10 and 40, and you sell to NPCs unless we say otherwise. NPC sell prices and what items restore come from the game data; shop prices (what River, Harry, Raymond or the grocers charge) aren't in the game data and are community-reported. Player prices aren't published anywhere reliable yet, so we don't quote them.
Why Warriors have it easy
Your costs are HP and a little MP. The skill data puts max Power Strike at 12 MP and max Slash Blast at 14 MP plus 16 HP per cast, and you never buy ammo: bows need arrows, crossbows need bolts and claws need stars, but swords, axes, blunts, spears and polearms need nothing. A Thief or Bowman pays for every shot. You don't.
The flip side: you take hits, so HP food is your whole budget. Spend it well:
| Item | Shop price (community) | Restores (game data) | Per meso |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red Potion | 50 | 100 HP | 2 HP |
| Meat | 80 | 160 HP | 2 HP |
| White Potion | 350 | 500 HP | about 1.43 HP |
| Lemon | 150 | 150 MP | 1 MP |
Red Potion and Meat are tied for the best HP per meso in town shops, and nothing beats them. White Potions restore more per click but cost more per HP, so use them only when you need the burst. Lemon is the budget MP item. A miss still burns the full MP cost of your skill, so fix your accuracy before you blame your potion bill.
Vendor the weapons you'll never use
Warrior-type weapons are the easiest early drops to turn into mesos. NPC sell prices from the game data:
| Drop | NPC sell price |
|---|---|
| Long Sword | 1,500 |
| Double Axe | 1,500 |
| Wooden Sword | 2,500 |
| Metal Axe | 2,500 |
Community drop data lists Long Swords and Double Axes from Orange Mushrooms, Wooden Swords from Red Snails and Metal Axes from Slimes. Keep the one you'll actually swing and sell the rest. For comparison, River in Perion sells the Long Sword for 3,000 and the Sabre for 5,000, so a drop you actually use saves you double its sell price.
Quests that pay Warriors twice
Fixed quest payouts are the only meso source with exact numbers. These ones also hand you something Warrior-useful:
| Quest | Lv | Mesos | Warrior bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jane and the Mushroom | 20 | 658 | Random Intermediate weapon attack scroll |
| Cutthroat Manny's Request | 22 | 716 | Mithril War Boots (wearable at Lv. 25). From Nella; needs Chris's Request, 50 Evil Eye kills and 30 Evil Eye Tails |
| Arwen and the Glass Shoe | 29 | 921 | Repeatable. Piece of Ice or Fairy Wing |
Arwen's quest is the one to build a routine around: every Arwen's Glass Shoe you hand in pays 921 mesos and 4,430 EXP, and community sources say Fire Boars drop the shoe (the game data has no drop tables).
Citizenship: Henesys for Warriors
A community Warrior guide calls Henesys the best general citizenship for the class and points to Raymond's Supreme Sniper Potion (+7 accuracy for 15 minutes, 600 mesos). You can sign up with Arthur in Henesys Town Hall at Lv. 12. The daily "Asking After" quest on the Community Board is steady small money, but the game picks one per day for you from a pool of 18: a town-resident one pays 286 mesos plus 8 Lemons, and the two main-NPC ones pay 716 mesos and 8 Blue Potions once you reach Henesys Citizenship Grade 5+.
Spend on the weapon, not the armor
A community Warrior guide puts it plainly: weapon upgrades matter most, and expensive armor can wait. River's price ladder in Perion shows why saving matters:
| Weapon (River, Perion) | Price |
|---|---|
| Long Sword | 3,000 |
| Sabre | 5,000 |
| Viking Sword | 10,500 |
| Broadsword | 16,500 |
Buff potions (Warrior Potion, +10 attack for 10 minutes, 500 mesos) are only worth it when they change how many hits a mob takes.
Smithing: savings, not profit
Most crafting loses mesos at NPC prices, and Smithing is no exception. The Iron Knuckle, a Lv. 40 Warrior glove crafted at Smithing Lv. 8, is often listed as a money-maker: 8 Iron Ingots, 24 Screws and a 6,000-meso fee, selling to NPCs for 8,400. But each Iron Ingot costs 200 to make (5 Iron Ore at 20 + a 100 fee) and each Screw 40 (2 ingots make 10, in Weaponcrafting), so the full cost is 8,560 and you lose about 160 per craft. That makes it the cheapest Smithing EXP in the game (160 EXP for about 160 mesos), not an income. Before that, Smithing can upgrade helmets: Metal Koif is a Bronze Koif (1,200 mesos at Harry, community-reported) plus 2 Iron Ingots and a 1,000 fee, about 2,600 all-in. It only saves money if the Metal Koif would cost you more than that to buy. The full recipe list is in the Smithing guide.
What not to do
- Don't vendor ores, leather and gems on reflex. Player prices for crafting materials often run far above NPC prices.
- Don't trust "best meso map" claims. The client stores no drop data, so meso drops haven't been measured on live servers.
- Don't buy mesos or use bots. Trading only opens 24 hours after a character on your account reaches Lv. 15 anyway.
