Mushmom Boss Guide for MapleStory Classic World: Level, Location, Respawn and Ilbi Drops
Mushmom is the big orange mushroom everyone remembers camping for Ilbis. In Classic World she's level 40 with 34,440 HP, weak to Fire, and she spawns alone in Someone Else's House, four hidden portals out of Henesys. Her base timer in the game data is an hour, but Nexon made field boss respawns more random at launch, and some players report her coming back closer to 90 minutes (community-reported, unverified).
Quick answer: Lv 40 · 34,440 HP · 340 EXP · weak to Fire. Henesys → An Empty House → Pig Park → Pig Park II → Someone Else's House (all hidden portals). 60-minute base timer, randomized since launch.
Mushmom stats
Multiple independent sources agree on these.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Level | 40 |
| HP | 34,440 |
| MP | 200 |
| EXP per kill | 340 |
| Weapon / Magic attack | 532 / 585 |
| Weapon / Magic DEF | 15 / 15 |
| Accuracy / Avoid | 130 / 29 |
| Weak to | Fire |
Launch change: Change histories show Mushmom's EXP dropped from 376 in the test build to 340 at launch. If a guide still says 376, it's using pre-launch data.
The game data flags Mushmom as aggressive: she comes for you, you don't get to pick the moment. The game data also gives her a single attack flagged as a jump attack, and 344 HP recovery per regen tick (the tick interval isn't in the data). That she also hops between floors is community-reported.
Where Mushmom spawns and how to get there
Mushmom spawns in Someone Else's House (Hidden Street), one at a time. The house only connects to Pig Park II, and its return map is Henesys Townstreet.
Route from Henesys (4 portals, all hidden; community map data agrees):
- Henesys → hidden portal at the far left → An Empty House
- → hidden portal → Pig Park
- → hidden portal at the far right → Pig Park II
- → hidden portal on the right side, high up → Someone Else's House
The house is otherwise full of Iron Hogs, with a couple of Fairies, so you can farm hogs while you wait.
Respawn: 60-minute base, often longer, randomized
Nexon's Grand Launch maintenance notice says field boss respawn times were "adjusted to be more randomized." Don't set an exact alarm.
- Base timer: 60 minutes. Multiple sources' map data list it.
- Live reports run longer. Two independent in-game reports put Mushmom's return near 90 minutes, and one community database uses an unconfirmed 1 to 1.5 hour window.
- Server tick: reportedly, respawns land on a roughly 7.5-second tick, so the spawn can slip a few seconds.
Windia has 40 channels since launch (Nexon). One community source says "channel surfing matters" for Mushmom, but we haven't found a second source that explains how channel timers work.
Recommended level and party
No official recommendation exists, so here's the reasoning. Our recommendation: be level 40, or bring accuracy gear and a party if you're under it.
- Accuracy is the wall. Her avoid is only 29, but she's level 40, and every level she has over you scales your accuracy down. Using the community accuracy formula (see accuracy and hit rate), you need 95 ACC at level 40, 114 at level 35 and 132 at level 30 to never miss. With 80 ACC you'd land about 66% of hits at level 40, 30% at level 35 and none at level 30.
- She hits hard. 532 weapon attack and 585 magic attack, about four times the 136 weapon attack of the Iron Hogs in the same house. Expect much bigger hits than anything you've been training on at 30 to 40, and carry more HP pots than you think.
- HP and regen: 34,440 HP plus 344 HP recovery per tick (game data). Low damage means a long, pot-heavy fight; a party shortens it.
- One per map: there's only one Mushmom in the house, so whoever deals the damage fastest gets her. Plan for company on busy channels.
Rough hit rates at level 40 by class
Base accuracy from the community class formulas, with assumed stats, before any gear or skill accuracy. Gear accuracy adds straight on top, so treat these as a floor.
| Class (assumed stats at level 40) | Base ACC | Hit rate on Mushmom |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior (60 DEX) | 71 | about 42% |
| Bowman (160 DEX) | 77 | about 58% |
| Thief (60 DEX, 160 LUK) | 77 | about 58% |
| Magician (220 INT) | 87 | about 83% |
Every class needs some accuracy from gear or skills to hit her reliably even at 40. Under 40, each level you're short makes it worse.
Strategy by class
No measured kill times exist yet, so this is based on the stat sheet and the accuracy math above.
- Fire/Poison Wizards: Fire Arrow is fire-element and Mushmom is fire-weak (one of two launch field bosses that are, with Stumpy). Magicians also have the best base accuracy here, so this is the cleanest matchup.
- Ice/Lightning Wizards and Clerics: she has no weakness to Ice, Lightning or Holy, so it's a straight damage race. Your INT-based accuracy is usually enough at 40.
- Warriors: the lowest base accuracy of the four classes, so get your accuracy skill and any accuracy gear on before you go, or go at 40+. Your HP pool is what lets you trade hits with 532 attack.
- Bowmen and Thieves: around 58% base hit rate at 40 on our assumptions; an accuracy glove or a level or two over her fixes most of it. Keep distance so you aren't eating her touch damage between shots.
Mushmom drops
No source publishes Classic World drop rates for Mushmom. The reference rates one community database shows come from another dataset, and it says they "may not represent" Classic rates. Nexon also added drop items to some Victoria Island monsters at launch, so pre-launch lists may be incomplete.
Items at least two sources agree on:
| Item | Listed by |
|---|---|
| Mushmom Spore | Three item databases, community drop reports |
| Ilbi Throwing Stars | Two item databases, community drop reports |
| Orange Whitebottom Boots | Item database, community drop reports (1 report) |
What Mushmom Spore is for: the game data lists one use, the level 44 quest Jane's Second Challenge, which needs 1 Mushmom Spore. Otherwise it vendors for 400 mesos.
Yes, the Ilbi dream is alive: Ilbi Throwing Stars are the most-voted Mushmom drop in community drop reports. Players also report Elixirs, Blue and Orange Potions, crafting catalysts, a Shield DEF Scroll: Intermediate and a few single sightings. Older pre-launch lists also include an item called just "Intermediate," which looks like an incomplete entry.
