Mr. Wetbottom's Secret Book Quest Guide (Sauna Robe) in MapleStory Classic World

Mr. Wetbottom's Secret Book is a 9-quest errand chain that starts with Mr. Wetbottom in the VIP Sauna in Sleepywood at level 32 and ends with a Sauna Robe, a 10-slot overall. In between you keep his runaway son Ronnie fed: Lupin's Bananas, Rina's Unagi Special, then a glass of Fresh Milk that costs you a Diamond. The whole chain pays 49,140 EXP and 8,593 mesos.

Before you start

Grab everything up front and the chain turns into a walk: Sleepywood, the tree tunnel north of Ellinia, Henesys, Ellinia, back to the tunnel, then Sleepywood again. Ronnie is in The Tree Tunnel At the Forest Up North, Rina is in Henesys and Rowen the Fairy is in Ellinia.

The one item that hurts is the Diamond for Rowen's milk. Drop tables aren't in the game data, so here are the routes the data does show:

• Luke the Security Guy (Lv 19, Henesys Dungeon Entrance) gives one random gem out of eight, Diamond being one of them. It's a one-time quest, so treat it as a lucky bonus, not a plan.
• Arcforge refines one Diamond Ore into a Diamond at Arcforge level 6 for a 1,200-meso fee. The only Diamond Ore source in the data is Collecting 100 Cursed Dolls, which comes after this chain, so for most players this means buying the ore (see the Arcforge guide).
• Otherwise, buy one on the Free Market (see where to get crafting materials).

This chain also unlocks two later ones: Collecting 50 Cursed Dolls (Rowen's Cursed Dolls, Lv 36) and First Material Delivery for Building a New House (Ronnie's house, Lv 41) both need Returned Secret Book done. See the Rowen the Fairy guide and the Ronnie's new house guide.

Step-by-step walkthrough

Where to hunt

Heads up: Lupins are level 37, five levels above the chain's level 32 gate, with 1,336 HP each. Spawn counts per map, densest first:

• Best combo map: Hunting Ground in the Deep Forest II, near Sleepywood, has Curse Eye ×20 and Lupin ×15 (plus Horny Mushrooms), so you can do the Lupin kills and the Curse Eye Tails in one place.
• Lupin (Lv 37): Monkey Swamp I (28), A Look-Out Shed Around the Beach (27, shared with Lorangs, Lv 38), Sleepy Dungeon V (23, mixed: Dark Stone Golems, Lv 58), Hunting Ground in the Deep Forest II (15)
• Curse Eye (Lv 33): Sleepy Dungeon V (23, mixed: Dark Stone Golems, Lv 58), Tree Dungeon, Forest Up North IX (20, Curse Eyes only), Hunting Ground in the Deep Forest II (20), Tree Dungeon, Forest Up North VIII (17)
• Pig's Head: the drop source isn't in the game data. The item is described as "a head of a pig", so Pigs are the obvious candidate (unverified): Thicket Around the Beach II (18), A Hill West of Henesys (16), The Forest East of Henesys (15).

The quest text says Curse Eye Tails and Lupin's Bananas come from Curse Eyes and Lupins.

Is it worth it?

Yes, for almost everyone. Our take assumes you want gear with upgrade slots more than raw EXP:

• The Sauna Robe is a level 30 overall with +1 to all four stats, 75 weapon DEF, +10 HP/MP and 10 upgrade slots. It also boosts HP and MP recovery 1.5x inside the hotel sauna.
• 49,140 EXP is about 40% of a level at 32 (122,760 to level), and the 40 Blue Potions help your mana bill.
• It's the key to Rowen's and Ronnie's chains later.

The only real cost is the Diamond. If you can't get one cheaply, park the chain at Cold Milk and come back.
