Rowen the Fairy and the Cursed Doll is a 5-quest grind from Rowen the Fairy in Ellinia, open at level 36 once you've finished Mr. Wetbottom's Secret Book. Every step is the same job with a bigger number: kill Zombie Lupins and bring back their Cursed Dolls. Across the chain that's 570 kills and 570 dolls for 35,100 EXP (about 18% of level 36), 5,700 mesos, random ores, a glove scroll and a level 40 hat for your class.

Quick answer: Start: Rowen the Fairy, Ellinia, Lv 36 (needs Returned Secret Book). Steps: 50 / 70 / 100 / 150 / 200 Zombie Lupin kills plus the same number of Cursed Dolls. Best rewards: a Gloves (Magic) Attack Scroll: Intermediate at 150, a 7-slot class hat at 200.

Where to hunt

Cursed Dolls come from Zombie Lupins (the item is "a cursed doll possessed by a Zombie Lupin"), and each step also counts the kills, so you farm both at once. Zombie Lupins are level 41 with 1,774 HP, five levels above the chain's gate, and they're undead (weak to Holy). Spawn counts per map, densest first:

The kills themselves add up: 570 Zombie Lupins at 89 EXP each is 50,730 EXP before any party or level modifiers, more than the quest rewards.

Hold on to extra dolls between steps. You can't start the next count until you hand in the last one, so any spares carry forward.

Is it worth it?

Do steps 1 to 4 if you're training on Zombie Lupins anyway. Step 5 depends on your class. Our take assumes you're levelling around Zombie Lupins rather than making a special trip:

Two things to know before step 5: the EXP never goes up, so 200 kills for 7,020 quest EXP is mostly about the hat. And with 7 slots, that hat is a good scrolling base for your 40s.

Frequently asked questions

How many Cursed Dolls do I need in total?
570 across the five steps: 50, 70, 100, 150 and 200. You also need the same number of Zombie Lupin kills.
Where do I farm Cursed Dolls in Classic World?
From Zombie Lupins. Monkey Swamp III has the most (31), then the two Monkey Forest tree dungeons (26 each) and Monkey Forest II (25).
Why can't I start Rowen's Cursed Doll quest?
It needs Returned Secret Book, the last step of Mr. Wetbottom's Secret Book. You also need to be level 36.
What does the 200 Cursed Dolls quest give?
A level 40, 7-slot hat for your class: Steel Nordic Helm, Dark Guiltian, Dark Distinction or Dark Pilfer.
Is the 150 Cursed Dolls scroll random?
Yes. It's 50/50 between a Gloves Attack Scroll: Intermediate and a Gloves Magic Attack Scroll: Intermediate.
