Storage and Inventory in MapleStory Classic World: Storage Keepers, Fees and Slots
Storage in Classic World is an account-wide bank: anything you deposit with a Storage Keeper in one town can be withdrawn in another, by any character on the account. Each Victoria Island town has a keeper (the Henesys one is in Henesys Park, not the town square). Depositing costs a small meso fee per slot, and citizens of Henesys or Kerning City pay less, up to 50% off at the top grade. Inventory and storage can each be expanded to 150 slots with Cash Shop coupons.
Quick facts: no storage on Maple Island. Henesys keeper = Mr. Lee in Henesys Park. Citizens get 5% off storage per citizenship grade (10% at Visitor, 50% at Citizen of Honor). Your house can hold a storage chest that opens the same account storage.
Where the Storage Keepers are
Community records list these keepers; our game data confirms each NPC stands in that town.
| Town | Storage Keeper |
|---|---|
| Lith Harbor | Mr. Kim (one source says Pason instead) |
| Henesys | Mr. Lee, in Henesys Park |
| Ellinia | Mr. Park |
| Perion | Mr. Wang |
| Kerning City | Mr. Hong |
| Sleepywood | Mr. Oh |
| Free Market Entrance | Scrooge |
Lith Harbor is the one disputed spot: two community databases disagree on whether Mr. Kim or Pason runs storage there. Talk to both if one doesn't open it.
There's no Storage Keeper on Maple Island, so you can't park items before sailing. Whatever you carry off the boat is what you have.
Storage fees and the citizenship discount
Two community sources agree the base deposit fee is 100 mesos per slot (a stack counts as one slot). Citizenship gives a separate storage discount of 5% per grade, applied by the keeper in your active citizenship town:
| Grade | Storage discount | Fee per slot |
|---|---|---|
| Traveler | 5% | 95 mesos |
| Visitor | 10% | 90 mesos |
| Helpful Stranger | 15% | 85 mesos |
| Recognized Guest | 20% | 80 mesos |
| Town Resident | 25% | 75 mesos |
| Trusted Neighbor | 30% | 70 mesos |
| Distinguished Citizen | 35% | 65 mesos |
| Town Patron | 40% | 60 mesos |
| Guardian of the Village | 45% | 55 mesos |
| Citizen of Honor | 50% | 50 mesos |
The fee-per-slot column comes from community records that were still based on the second closed test at launch. The discount itself is official: Nexon lists "Discount on Storage Keeper services" as a citizen perk. Grades are explained on Citizenship Grades and Rewards.
Tip: citizens should make their home-town keeper (Mr. Lee or Mr. Hong) their main bank. And if you own a house, a placed storage chest connects to the same account storage, so you can bank from home.
Storage size
- The Storage Room 5-slot Coupon (5,000 NX) adds 5 storage slots, up to 150 slots.
- One community source lists a base of 50 slots. Nexon hasn't published the starting size, so treat that as unconfirmed.
- Portable Storage (30 days) comes in the Monthly Essentials pack; Nexon doesn't describe it further in the launch notes.
Inventory tabs and expanding them
Your inventory has separate tabs for Equip, Use, Set-up and Etc, plus a Cash tab for Cash Shop items and pets. A full Etc tab doesn't block you from picking up a sword, because each tab has its own slots.
The Selective 5-slot Coupon (5,000 NX) expands one of Equip, Use, Set-up or Etc by 5 slots, up to 150 slots per tab. Nexon hasn't said how many slots a tab starts with.
Stack sizes (game data)
Equipment never stacks, which is why the Equip tab fills first. Everything else stacks up to its own limit:
| Item type | Stacks to | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Most monster Etc drops | 200 | Blue Snail Shell |
| Basic arrows and stars | 1,000 | Arrows for Bows, Tobi Throwing Stars |
| Higher-tier stars | 500 to 800 | Subi, Wolbi (500), Ilbi (800) |
So a long grind costs slots per type of drop, not per drop. Weekly citizenship donations ask for 30 of one Etc item, and the game picks which one each week from a rotating pool (17 items on the Henesys board, 18 in Kerning City), so keeping a stack of each common drop in storage pays off.
Before your 2nd job: Nexon fixed a launch bug where the 2nd job advancement could fail and remove the quest item if your Use inventory had no free slots. It's fixed, but keep a few Use slots open before any job advancement anyway.
