Hunter Training Spots by Level (30 to 70+) in MapleStory Classic World
A Hunter wants grouped mobs on wide platforms, because Arrow Bomb pays off when the blast catches a whole pack. In practice that means the Kerning City subway from 30, the Lorang maps on Florina Beach in the late 30s, the Wraith subway lines from the late 40s, and the skeleton camps past the Excavation Site in the late 50s and 60s. A community calculator also likes the Sleepywood Ant Tunnels for Hunters at 50โ60, because the low-level mushrooms there die to one Arrow Bomb.
Quick answer: 30โ35: Transfer Area (38 Stirges) or Line 1 <Area 1> (64 Bubblings) while Arrow Bomb is low, then Line 2 <Area 1> (83 Jr. Wraiths). 36โ40: A Look-Out Shed Around the Beach (36 Lorangs + 27 Lupins) or Lorang Lorang. 41โ45: Monkey Swamp III (31 Zombie Lupins). 46โ55: Line 2 <Area 3> (68 Wraiths, nothing else) or Line 1 <Area 4> (59). 50โ60 alternative: Ant Tunnel III (99 Lv 22โ24 mushrooms that die to one Arrow Bomb). 57+: Camp 1 (20 Skeleton Soldiers), then Camp 3 (14 Officer Skeletons). Sleepy Dungeon V is a mixed-level map: only 19 of its 88 spawns are Dark Stone Golems.
How to read this page
Two kinds of numbers on this page, kept apart:
- Game data (fact): monster level, HP, EXP and how many of each monster a map spawns, from the launch game data.
- Community training calculator (estimate): it runs a sample Hunter build at each level against each map, only counting kills guaranteed in one or two casts with no misses, and assumes every Arrow Bomb catches six mobs. Treat its EXP/min as a comparison, not a promise.
We don't rank maps by a theoretical "max EXP per hour" (every mob dying the instant it spawns). Kill speed and density decide a map: a packed map of mobs that die to one Arrow Bomb beats a sparse map of bigger mobs that need two or three.
Hunter picks by level (community training calculator)
| Level | Sample build | 1st pick | 2nd pick |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 | Arrow Blow 20, 79 ACC | Transfer Area: Stirge, ~2,231 EXP/min | Line 1 <Area 1>: Bubbling, ~1,652 EXP/min |
| 40 | Arrow Bomb 4, max Mastery, Booster | Transfer Area: ~8,369 EXP/min | Line 1 <Area 1>: ~7,487 EXP/min |
| 50 | Arrow Bomb 30, 108 ACC | Ant Tunnel III: ~19,318 EXP/min | Ant Tunnel IV: ~16,167 EXP/min |
| 60 | Arrow Bomb 30, 126 ACC | Ant Tunnel III: ~19,318 EXP/min | Ant Tunnel Park: ~16,363 EXP/min |
| 70 | Community Lv 70 build, 155 ACC | Line 1 <Area 2>: ~19,847 EXP/min | Ant Tunnel III: ~19,318 EXP/min |
The surprise is level 40. You'd expect to move on from Stirges, but with Arrow Bomb still low, the calculator keeps you in the subway. At 50 and 60, Ant Tunnel III's Horny and Zombie Mushrooms (Lv 22 and Lv 24, 403 and 436 HP) die in a single Arrow Bomb, and those clean one-shots beat fancier maps on its model. The catch: they're worth only 41 and 45 EXP each, so the whole pick rests on hitting six per bomb on a crowded 99-spawn map. If your bombs catch two or three, the Wraith lines below will feel better. At 70 the pick moves to Line 1 <Area 2>, where Stirges die in one cast and Jr. Wraiths in two.
The calculator rates every one of these picks as "Safe" (hits cost under 10% of your HP), for its sample build.
Maps by bracket (game data)
Monster stats and spawn counts are from the launch game data, densest map first within each bracket. "Main mob on map" is how many of the main monster the map spawns. Mixed level means another monster on the map is 10+ levels above the main one.
| Level | Map | Main mob (level) | HP | EXP each | Main mob on map | Other mobs | Hunter notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 30โ35 | Line 2 <Area 1> | Jr. Wraith (34) | 982 | 66 | 83 | 14 Jr. Necki (21) | Densest Jr. Wraith map |
| 30โ35 | Line 1 <Area 2> | Jr. Wraith (34) | 982 | 66 | 69 | 21 Stirge (20) | Usually quieter |
| 31โ35 | The Burnt Land V | Fire Boar (32) | 842 | 60 | 26 | 12 Lupin (37), 10 Dark Axe Stump (23) | Off-subway option; less than a third of Line 2's density |
| 36โ40 | A Look-Out Shed Around the Beach | Lorang (38) | 1,714 | 78 | 36 | 27 Lupin (37) | The Lupins respawn on a 60-second timer, not with each wave, so after the first clear it's mostly Lorangs |
| 36โ40 | Lorang Lorang | Lorang (38) | 1,714 | 78 | 35 | 5 Lupin (37) | Almost pure Lorang |
| 41โ45 | Monkey Swamp III | Zombie Lupin (41) | 1,774 | 89 | 31 | 11 Jr. Necki (21) | Thin bracket. Tree Dungeon, Monkey Forest I and II have 26 each |
| 46โ55 | Line 2 <Area 3> | Wraith (48) | 2,350 | 122 | 68 | none | Densest Wraith map, nothing else spawns |
| 46โ55 | Line 1 <Area 4> | Wraith (48) | 2,350 | 122 | 59 | none | Pure Wraith backup |
| 46โ55 | Line 2 <Area 2> | Wraith (48) | 2,350 | 122 | 57 | 32 Jr. Wraith (34), 18 Jr. Necki (21) | Most spawns in the subway (107), but almost half aren't Wraiths |
| 50โ55 | Lorang and Clang | Clang (49) | 2,899 | 127 | 29 | 18 Lorang (38) | Mixed level: Clang is 11 above Lorang; both are worth killing at 50 |
| 52โ55 | Dangerous Croko II | Croco (52) | 3,136 | 146 | 24 | 21 Jr. Necki (21), 9 Slime (6) | Over half the spawns are low-level filler |
| 57โ60 | Camp 1 | Skeleton Soldier (57) | 3,872 | 183 | 20 | 5 Officer Skeleton (63) | Densest Skeleton Soldier map, past the Excavation Site. Capped at 7 alive at once |
| 57โ60 | Sleepy Dungeon V | Dark Stone Golem (58) | 5,428 | 192 | 19 | 23 Curse Eye (33), 23 Lupin (37), 10 Jr. Boogie (35), 9 Jr. Necki (21), 4 Slime (6) | Mixed level: only 19 of 88 spawns are Golems; the rest are 21โ52 levels below them |
| 63โ70 | Camp 3 | Officer Skeleton (63) | 5,976 | 242 | 14 | 6 Skeleton Soldier (57) | Sparse; worth it only if Officers die in two bombs |
| 60โ70 | Dangerous Valley II | Red Drake (60) | 5,184 | 211 | 17 | 8 Fire Boar (32), 5 Copper Drake (45) | Mixed level the other way: 13 of 30 spawns are 15โ28 levels below the Drakes |
A spawn count isn't how many mobs are alive at once: each map's data also sets a monster cap, much lower than its spawn points on the subway lines (17 or 18). See spawn rate and map capacity.
Accuracy: rarely a Hunter problem
The community take is that a Hunter has so much Accuracy that misses only show up against mobs well above your level. ACC to never miss each mob when you're the same level, from the community accuracy formula and the launch avoid values:
| Mob | Level | Avoid | ACC to never miss at the mob's level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jr. Wraith | 34 | 25 | 82 |
| Lorang | 38 | 24 | 79 |
| Zombie Lupin | 41 | 29 | 95 |
| Wraith | 48 | 32 | 104 |
| Skeleton Soldier | 57 | 34 | 111 |
| Officer Skeleton | 63 | 37 | 120 |
The calculator's sample Hunter has 94 ACC at 40, 108 at 50 and 126 at 60, so it's clear of everything up to the skeleton camps by the time it would farm them. If you're below a mob's level you need more.
Making Arrow Bomb pay
- Grouped mobs, flat ground. The calculator's numbers assume each bomb hits all six. Test a few packs before settling in. If the mobs are spread out, your real EXP will be lower.
- Keep your distance. Inside about 65 px you bow-whack. Pick platforms that keep mobs in front of you.
- Count the walk. The calculator lists Dr. Faymus (Kerning subway) and Mr. Sweatbottom (Ant Tunnel) as the nearest refills for these picks. Soul Arrow cuts out arrow trips once it's up long enough.
- High ping? There are community reports of delayed Arrow Bomb explosions for players outside North America. If that's you, a single-target map with Double Shot may feel better.
- Crowded channel? Swap to the second pick or a different channel before fighting over a map.
Maps you can't use yet
Forgotten Hollow isn't open at Grand Launch. Nexon's notes say it opens in November. Skip any route that sends you there for now. Orbis and El Nath aren't in the launch game data either (only Maple Island and Victoria Island are live), which is why the 60s are thin: the skeleton camps, Red Drakes and the Sanctuary Entrance maps are what Victoria Island has.
