The level cap in MapleStory Classic World is level 100, per Nexon's Grand Launch notes. You'll be in 2nd job the whole way, since 3rd job isn't in the game yet. And the last ten levels are brutal: from level 90, each level costs 2.1 times the one before it.

Quick answer: max level 100. 2nd job (level 30) is the last advancement at launch. Reaching level 90 takes 103,322,764 EXP in total. Reaching 100 takes 18,194,778,397. That's not a typo.

The cap and your job

Max level100

3rd jobNot in the game yet

Nexon's notes stop at 2nd job, so every character from level 30 to 100 plays the same 2nd job skill set. If you're waiting on 3rd job, see is there 3rd job in Classic World.

How steep the curve gets

Every number below comes from the launch game data's EXP table (totals are our own sums). Up to level 89 each level costs about 5.5% more than the one before; community sources note that this part matches pre-Big Bang MapleStory. At level 90 it changes: each level costs 2.1 times the previous one.

LevelEXP to next levelTotal EXP from level 1
3095,700644,337
895,684,790103,322,764 (total to reach 90)
9011,938,059115,260,823

999,482,161,54818,194,778,397 (total to reach 100)

Put another way: getting to level 90 is about 0.6% of the EXP needed for 100. Level 99 to 100 alone costs over 9.4 billion EXP. In practice level 90 is the realistic ceiling for most players for a long time, and 100 is a trophy.

That fits what Inkwell said about Classic World: a slower, relaxed game where you can step away and come back without feeling hopelessly behind. More on that in what is MapleStory Classic World.

What there is to do at high level right now

Honestly, not much yet at the top end. At launch, the playable map is Maple Island and Victoria Island. Forgotten Hollow, Classic World's own higher-level area, opens in November according to Nexon. Orbis, El Nath and 3rd job have no date; community summaries of Nexon's statements say they'll be reworked before they arrive.

According to a community recap of Nexon's MapleStory Fest panel, the gear you can actually get currently stops at level 50, and Nexon said that will go up with later updates. Nexon hasn't put that in writing, so treat it as reported, not confirmed.

Will the cap go up?

Nexon hasn't announced a higher cap. With 3rd job still to come and endgame areas arriving step by step, the cap is less of a wall today than the EXP curve is.
