Icarus and the Flying Medicine Quest Guide in MapleStory Classic World

Icarus and the Flying Medicine is a 3-quest chain from Icarus in Kerning City, open at level 46 after his earlier Icarus and the Balloon quest (which itself needs Icarus's Hang Glider, which needs I'm Bored 2). Icarus still wants to fly, so you fetch magic medicine from Wing the Fairy in Ellinia. It pays 29,160 EXP, 3,906 mesos, 25 Blue Potions and a random Icarus Cape.

Step-by-step walkthrough

Getting the materials

Medicine With Weird Vibes is "left by a Wraith", per its item description (drop rates aren't in the game data):

• Wraith (Lv 48, 2,350 HP), densest first: Line 2 <Area 3> (68) and Line 1 <Area 4> (59) are Wraith-only; Line 2 <Area 2> (57) and Line 1 <Area 3> (48) mix in Jr. Wraiths and lower mobs; B3 <Subway Depot> has 10.

Witchgrass Leaf is the hard part. Its item text says it grows "in the swamps", but the game data has no drop source or map for it, and it's a quest item, so you can't buy it from other players. Drop source not in the game data; the swamp maps around Kerning City (The Swamp of Despair I–III, The Murky Swamp I–II, Monkey Swamp I–III) are the obvious places to look, but that's our guess, unverified. We'll update this once it's confirmed in game.

Is it worth it?

Yes. It's a short chain for a 5-slot cape. All three capes are level 46 with 21 weapon DEF, 9 magic DEF, +3 accuracy and 5 slots; the colour decides the bonus:

Each is a 1-in-3 roll. Even the "wrong" colour is a 5-slot cape for scrolling, and none of them is class- or gender-locked. Our take assumes you don't already own a better cape.

If you skipped Icarus's earlier quests, you'll need to go back first: Icarus's Hang Glider (Lv 31: 10 Processed Wood, 30 Stirge Wings, 15 Stiff Feathers, after I'm Bored 2), then Icarus and the Balloon (Lv 31: 10 Alligator Skin Pouches, 50 Tablecloths).

The chain's 29,160 EXP is about 5.7% of a level at 46 (510,420 to level).
