Mano is the giant snail and the first boss most players ever kill. In Classic World it's level 20 with 7,420 HP, and it spawns alone on Thicket Around the Beach III, four maps out of Lith Harbor. The base timer is about an hour, but Nexon made field boss respawns more random at Grand Launch, so don't trust a stopwatch.

Quick answer: Lv 20 · 7,420 HP · 148 EXP · no elemental weakness. Lith Harbor → Right Around Lith Harbor → Thicket Around the Beach I → II → III. One Mano per map, roughly hourly base timer, randomized since launch.

Mano is one of the six launch bosses in Nexon's Grand Launch notes. See the boss hub for the full list.

The game data gives Mano no elemental weakness or resistance, so bring whatever your best attack is. It's flagged as aggressive, so it comes at you as soon as it sees you.

Where Mano spawns and how to get there

Mano spawns on Thicket Around the Beach III (Victoria Road), one at a time. The map sits between Thicket Around the Beach II and 3-Way Road-Split, and its return map is Lith Harbor.

Route from Lith Harbor (4 portals):

  1. Lith Harbor → Right Around Lith Harbor
  2. → Thicket Around the Beach I
  3. → Thicket Around the Beach II
  4. → Thicket Around the Beach III

The map is a normal low-level field with 34 regular spawns (13 Snails, 10 Stumps, 8 Orange Mushrooms, 2 Red Snails, 1 Blue Snail), so you can kill trash while you wait.

Respawn: about an hour, now randomized

Nexon's Grand Launch maintenance notice says field boss respawn times were "adjusted to be more randomized." Treat every timer below as a rough guide, not a schedule.

  • Base timer: 60 minutes. The game data stores a 3,600-second spawn timer for Mano on this map.
  • Live timing may run longer. One community timer uses an unconfirmed 1 to 1.5 hour window because live boss respawns can run closer to 90 minutes.
  • Ignore 30-minute figures. Some older guides list a 30-minute Mano timer. The launch game data says 3,600 seconds (60 minutes).

Community data also notes that respawns land on a server tick of about 7.5 seconds, so a "due" Mano can show up a few seconds late. Windia runs 40 channels since launch, per Nexon. One community source advises that "channel surfing matters," but we haven't found a second source that confirms how each channel's timer behaves.

No source publishes a recommended level or party size for Mano. Here's what you can plan with:

  • Accuracy: a community accuracy table says a level 20 character needs 44 ACC to never miss Mano, a level 15 needs 52, and a level 10 needs 61. If you're under level 20, accuracy is the first wall you'll hit.
  • HP pool: 7,420 HP is a lot for a 1st job character. A party of fresh 2nd-job players drops it fast, and a solo 1st jobber needs pots and patience.
  • Adds: reportedly, once Mano drops below 90% HP it calls 4 Snails and 2 Red Snails every 10 seconds, up to 30 summons. The game data does confirm a Slow debuff: it lasts 5 seconds and Mano can cast it once every 60 seconds. The adds are weak, but they block your hits and body-check you.

Strategy by class

Nobody has published measured kill times yet, so these tips come straight from the stat sheet.

  • Melee (Warriors, Bandits): you'll be standing in Mano's touch zone the whole fight, so bring pots. Clear the snail adds now and then so your swings keep landing on Mano.
  • Magicians: there's no weakness to exploit, so use your strongest single-target spell and keep some distance. Mano is slow (speed -40 in the game data).
  • Bowmen and Assassins: fight from range. Mano reportedly stays on the floor it spawns on, so you can shoot or throw from a ledge and step back when it gets close. Watch your arrows or stars on a 7,420 HP target.

Mano drops

No source publishes Classic World drop rates for Mano. Reference rates from other datasets exist, but even the sites showing them say they may not match Classic, so we don't use them. Nexon's launch notice also says drop items were added for some Victoria Island monsters at launch, so pre-launch drop lists may be incomplete.

ItemEvidence
Rainbow-colored Snail ShellConfirmed by the game data: its item text calls it a shell "only found from Mano". It's the item for Pia's Lv 20 quest A rainbow snail shell that makes wishes come true!?, which needs What I Learned About Snails done first. The data lists no reward for turning it in.
Scroll Crafting CatalystTwo community drop lists (one older list calls it "Scroll Crafting Stimulator", but no item by that name exists in the game data)

One player-voted community list adds more that only it reports so far, including Green Apple, Snail Shell, Blue Snail Shell, Red Snail Shell, other crafting catalysts and a few Intermediate scrolls. Treat those as community sightings, not confirmed tables.
