Walkthrough notes

Finding Lyn: the quest log hints at a hidden room above the Magic Library. That's The Circulation Desk.
Step 1: recover 25 Torn Ledger Pages that fairies took. The log names Tree Dungeon, Forest Up North VI, Tree Dungeon, Forest Up North VII and Someone Else's House. Be ready for a slow farm: the game data puts only 2 fairies on each of those maps (Lv. 29, 593 HP), surrounded by Curse Eyes (Lv. 33) in the tree dungeon, plus Cold Eyes (Lv. 40) in VII, and Iron Hogs and a Mushmom (Lv. 40 boss) in Someone Else's House. Fairy 4 also spawns around the Golem's Temple (3 at The Entrance of Golem's Temple), but the quest doesn't mention it and drop data isn't in the game files, so we can't confirm it drops pages. Hop channels between the named maps. Then Chief Stan in Henesys stamps the cover.
Step 2: Chief Stan makes out one word on the pages and sends you to Manji in Perion.
Step 3: Manji recognizes the handwriting and sends you to Chrishrama in Sleepywood to repair the pages.
Step 4: Chrishrama rebinds the ledger. The Hotel Receptionist can't decode the long entry and sends you to the Dark Lord in Kerning City.
Step 5: the Dark Lord (Thieves' Hideout) sends you to Alex on the rooftops, who fills in the part about the bench.
Step 6: Grendel the Really Old in the Magic Library sends you back up to Lyn, who explains the entry and writes you into the registry.
