Jane and the Mushroom is a level 20 quest from Jane, the girl with bunny ears in Lith Harbor. She wants to travel and thinks a pile of mushroom caps will change her dad's mind. Kill 30 Blue Mushrooms and 30 Horny Mushrooms, bring her 15 of each cap, and she hands you one random Intermediate weapon attack scroll. It's also the first step of Jane's Elixir quests later on.

Quick answer: Lv. 20+ · Start and finish with Jane in Lith Harbor · Kill 30 Blue Mushroom + 30 Horny Mushroom · Bring 15 Blue Mushroom Cap + 15 Horny Mushroom Cap · Reward: 1,610 EXP, 658 mesos and one random Intermediate weapon attack scroll (14 possible) · Best maps: The Blue Mushroom Forest and Ant Tunnel IV.

What you need

RequirementAmount
Level20 or higher
Blue Mushroom kills (Lv. 19)30
Horny Mushroom kills (Lv. 22)30
Blue Mushroom Cap15
Horny Mushroom Cap15

The kills and the caps come from the same hunt. Both caps drop a lot: community kill counts logged before Grand Launch put the Blue Mushroom Cap at about 47% (30 kills) and the Horny Mushroom Cap at about 46% (633 kills). So the 30 kills of each will usually net you the 15 caps along the way, and a few extra kills cover bad luck.

Where to hunt

Blue Mushrooms (Lv. 19, 342 HP):

Spawn counts are from the game data. Each map page has the walking route from the nearest town and a picture of the whole map.

Can you hit them? At level 20 you need about 37 accuracy to hit a Blue Mushroom every time and about 47 for a Horny Mushroom. Below that you'll miss some swings. Check your number with the accuracy calculator.

The reward

RewardAmount
EXP1,610 (about 8% of a level at level 20)

ScrollOne random Intermediate weapon attack scroll

The scroll is picked at random from 14 possible scrolls, one for each weapon type: one-handed sword, axe and blunt weapon, two-handed sword, axe and blunt weapon, spear, polearm, bow, crossbow, claw, dagger, wand and staff. Weapon attack scrolls are 60% for +2 Weapon Attack; the wand and staff ones are 60% for +4 Magic Attack.

You can't choose the scroll, so you'll often get one for a weapon you don't use. Don't vendor it: Intermediate weapon scrolls are worth far more to other players than to a shop. See Free Market prices and our weapon scrolls guide.

What it unlocks

Jane and the Mushroom is the first of Jane's quests. At level 44 she has more for you, and those pay out Elixirs:

So even if the scroll is a dud, do this one: it opens the Elixir chain for later.
